2019 Tournament Rules

 

1. There will be 12 tournaments each calendar year within a 50 mile radius of Corsicana. The 12 tournaments will count toward total weight for the year.  

2. Club meetings will be held after each monthly tournament following the weigh-in.

3. Each tournament lake, and time will be determined at each monthly tournament weigh-in by a majority vote. We will also determine the tournament directors at this time for that tournament.

4.  Tournaments will be held on third Sunday of each month, for one day only unless we vote to change at the meeting.

      a. tournament cancellation due to bad weather will occur via group text to be held by 8:00 pm Saturday prior to the tournament. A vote will be taken at that time on rescheduling said tournaments new date.   

5.  Members must check in at launch site and pay fee by one hour prior to tournament to be eligible for weigh-in. Tournament director will be at site 1 hour before safe light for registration and live well check, which must be completed before launching your boat.   In the event of circumstances preventing you to arrive at these times, please contact Bobby Johnston 903-879-5820, or any other club officer for late entry.

6.  Tournament entry fee will be $20.00 per person. The $20.00 will be divided as follows: $8.00 for the club, $10.00 for big bass; first and second place (60-40 split), and $2.00 for the angler of the year.

7.  Dues Yearly are $40 per year.

8.  You must be at weigh-in at the time of weigh-in. That is either tied off or beached or within sight due to ramp congestion. Time is determined by the tournament director’s watch.

9.  All decisions made by the tournament director are final regarding the eligibility of all contestants and their catch for the tournament. Protests must be made within 15 minutes of completion of weigh-in.

10.  Total team weight will determine the team standings. Individual weight will determine the end of the year standings (i.e. Angler of the Year, Big Bass of the Year and Top Six.)

11.  If a tie should occur during the tournament, the tie-breaker will be determined by the weight of his/her Big Bass.

12.  If a tie should occur for the Big Bass Pot; the pot will be divided equally as follows: first place tie 50-50 split – with no second place paid, second place tie 50-50 of the second place money.

13.  A member is allowed one guest per year and guest must fish with a member; that guest may fish only one time per year as a guest. The guest is eligible to win the Big Bass pot (money only). Big Bass plaque will be presented to the member who has Big Bass.

14.  Largemouth, Spotted and Smallmouth Bass must be 14" or longer and are the only fish that may be weighed.

15.  There will be a penalty of half pound for each dead fish.

16.  All fish will be released in a location determined by the tournament director. This location is for the best interest and protection of the fish. Any member who violates this will be disqualified from the tournament and may face expulsion from the club. Expulsion will be decided on by a majority vote at the next meeting.

17.  The only fish that is allowed for a member to keep is one that weighs 8lbs. or more for a trophy.

18.  No trolling with big motor as method of fishing will be allowed during the tournament.

19.  Only artificial bait may be used during the tournament.

20.  Only one fishing rod may be used at a time during the tournament.

21.  No boat may fish within 25 yards of another tournament boat unless it is agreeable with the fellow tournament angler. This will be by verbal agreement, please respect others.

22.  Boats must have a working live well/wells.

23.  Boats must have a working kill switch.

 

24.  During club tournaments, all members and guests must wear a life jacket at all times when the boat is on plane.

25.  All members and guests must follow all lake rules and regulations. Failure to do so will make you subject to disqualification from that tournament.

26.  No bank or tube fishing is permitted during the tournaments.

27.  All tournament anglers will leave at the same time.  Tournament start times will be at safe light, determined by tournament director.

28.  Richland Chambers Bass Club imposes a three (3) fish limit on its members, unless specified by lake regulations. Sole member may weigh in five (5) fish for team weight if he/she pays two entry fees. He/she may only weigh in the three largest fish for his individual standings.

29.  Any short fish will result in loss of that fish and a one pound penalty.  Check your fish before you weigh it.   Measured by the Golden Rule at weigh-in.

30.  Failure to comply with tournament rules can result in disqualification from that Tournament and or expulsion from the club. Members may appeal to the Executive Board if extenuation circumstances are present.

31.  The Executive Board consists of all the Club Officers. President, Bobby Johnston; Vice President, Ben Rosa; Secretary, Treasure.

32.  To be eligible for the Angler of the Year and or Big Bass of the Year, a member must have fished at least eight (8) tournaments during the year.

33.  To be eligible to be a club officer, and or member you:

       A. Must be an active club member.

       B. Must fish at least eight (8) tournaments during the year.

       C. Must attend at least eight (8) monthly club meetings.

       D. Must be a member in good standing with no outstanding debts owed to the club.

       E. Any exception to these requirements must be approved by majority of club members present at the time of election of new officers.

34.  There will never be more than two people in a boat, unless there is an emergency (i.e. motor won’t crank, rescue, ect.)

35.  To fish the Money Tournament which divides the balance of the funds from the previous year, a member must have been a member for ten (10) months and must have fished eight (8) regular monthly tournaments. (A member may pay for missed tournaments to be qualified to fish the money tournament only at the end of the year.)

36. The big bass of the Year will receive $100.00. The angler of the year will receive the $2.00 for each tournament fished the rest of the  top 6 will receive each $100.00.
